Certified pure therapeutic grade essential oils

The benefits of certified pure therapeutic grade essential oils

CPTG Essential Oils

The benefits of CPTG® essential oils can be realized through several delivery methods: aromatically, topically, and internally. dōTERRA®  helps facilitate the different options for the use of essential oils in their various forms by providing quality products that follow traditional applications as well as more technologically advanced applications with state-of-the-art diffusers. Using a variety of application methods can offer a unique and exciting experience with each oil.

What does CPTG mean?

CPTG Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade® essential oils means the manufacturer protects the chemical compound of the plant just as it was produced from the earth.

“We don’t need to improve upon that. If we have the care, the scientific knowledge, the commitment and the integrity, we can preserve that.” -Dr. David K. Hill, D.C. (dōTERRA’s Chief Medical Officer).

Where do they come from?

Doterra source essential oils from a number of growers and distillers from around the world. Each location has its own specific laws and rules governing agriculture and collecting wild crafted botanicals. They look for plant materials that are grown in specific environments, but we cannot say that our oils are all “organic” as that requires specific certification that we simply cannot produce for some of our oils.

CPTG Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade® testing standard requires that the oil extracts be both free of other foreign materials and it tests for certain compounds at certain levels so that our oils meet the performance criteria for each lot of oil.

What about oils that fail the test?

If an oil fails the test, specifically pesticides, there is no secondary process for removing the pesticides or foreign matter. The oils failing the test would simply be rejected. Other than the careful distillation of the oils from the plant material, there is no other processing that takes place. They are aromatic extracts, nothing added, and nothing removed—they either meet those standards or they don’t.

The long history of Doterra is part of the art of producing such beautiful oils.

They are families of farmers, collectors, and chemists, but they are committed to distilling essential oils as artisans; and we believe they are mindful of their environments and are committed to sustainable practices.

The network is vast and our suppliers’ methods are diverse. If they were to learn of any actions of a supplier causing harm to either the environment or to the local people of their community, they would certainly seek other and more appropriate sources.

Their long-term hope is as they grow the demand for essential oils they can also help develop clean industry for local economies around the production of plants and extracts. Steam distillation is a very clean process. No solvents are used in the process, the left over plant material can make good compost, and the water waste stream is clean but for a hint of beautiful-smelling aromatics.

Why is it important to choose CPTG Oils?

These standards are so important to because most of us now do our best to only use organic products but also keep chemicals out of our home. We love doTERRA!

Be sure to refer to the essential oil usage charts and follow usage recommendations to ensure safe application.

Wild Orange Uses

Wild orange essential oil (Citrus sinensis) is one of my absolute favorite essential oild!

It is is said to have more and stronger properties than regular orange oil.

Its aroma is obviously citrusy, but very sweet too. I love to use it in my car (I have a little plugin diffuser), diffused in a room, or even a drop in a water bottle or smoothie.

It’s most commonly used for digestive and immune support, as well as skin health. (You do need to be careful with topical use on the skin though, since it can make you photosensitive.) But I think of all its uses, the emotional impact it has on the mind and heart are probably the most popular.

Primary Benefits

  • Powerful cleanser and purifying agent
  • Protects against seasonal and environmental threats
  • High in antioxidants, which are essential to overall health
  • Uplifting to the mind and body

Emotional Benefits

Energetically, wild orange is very uplifting to the mind and emotions. This can translate to an increase in physical energy, or an elevating mood. It’s often said to be an oil of abundance, or possibility, opening a person’s mind and heart to the potential that surrounds them, and their ability to accept the goodness Life is offering.

This can affect a person on many levels, from helping you to release patterns of money blocks and fear, to stimulating your creativity, vision, and widening your perspective.

It can also help a person tap into their own playfulness and sense of humour, so that challenges can be approached without the heaviness that often impacts our ability to navigate them. And it helps you tap into your authentic self, and come to learn that you are, in fact, “enough”.
