Zendocrine blend

Zendocrine Detoxification Blend

Zendocrine detoxification blend is a fairly new essential oil blend to support the body’s natural ability to rid itself of unwanted substances,  cleanse the body of toxins and support healthy liver function, while also purifying and detoxifying systems of the body.

With more people turning to essential oil blends to promote overall health, I wanted to look into the benefits of Zendocrine.

What is Zendocrine?

Zendocrine is on of our doTERRA essential oils blend products. This detoxification blend offers a host of benefits, but primarily its uses include:

  • Supporting healthy liver function.
  • Detoxifying systems of the body.
  • Body system purification.
  • Supports the body’s ability to cleanse the body of toxins.

Essential oil blends are volatile aromatic compounds found in the bark, flowers, roots, seeds, and stems of the plant. What is a volatile aromatic compound? They are small organic molecules changing from a liquid or solid state into a gas; all at room temperature. When volatile aromatic compounds move through the air, they in-turn affect the sensory glands; making essential oil blends ideal for use in aromatherapy.

Benefits of Zendocrine

While doTERRA offers key benefits of Zendocrine, there are additional benefits of essential oil blends. The primary benefits of Zendocrine include:

  • Body system purification.
  • Claims to cleanse the body of toxins.
  • Supports healthy liver function.
  • Additional benefits of essential oils include:
  • Complementary treatment to massage therapy and acupuncture.
  • Positive effects on nausea and vomiting.

INGREDIENTS

Zendocrine Ingredients

Zendocrine ingredients are listed in a proprietary blend, including:

  • Tangerine peel
  • Rosemary leaf
  • Geranium flower/leaf
  • Juniper berry
  • Cilantro herb

Tangerine Peel

Tangerine, as with other citrus fruits, has been studied extensively for its health benefits. The Chemistry Central Journal concluded, “metabolites in Citrus…work synergistically to exhibit anti-oxidative, anti-inflammatory properties.”

Rosemary

Rosemary is used in culinary dishes throughout the world, but also offers health benefits. According to the journal Evidence-based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, “uses of rosemary are antibacterial, antioxidant, improving cognitive deficits, and anti-inflammatory.”

Additionally, the journal Psychiatry Research found “smelling rosemary increases free radical scavenging activity and decreases cortisol levels.”

Geranium

Geranium is an essential oil studied for its benefits on stress reduction. According to the Journal of Caring Sciences, “Aroma of essential oil of geraniums can effectively reduce [stress]…and can be recommended as a non-invasive anti-[stress] aid.”

Juniper Berry

Juniper is native to Europe, North and South America. According to the journal International Scholarly Research Notices, juniper has been used in “herbal medicine…as [an] antidiarrheal, anti-inflammatory, astringent, and antiseptic.”

Research presented in the journal Antioxidants concluded, “antioxidant research of juniper essential oil provided the existence of several mechanisms which enabled [free] radical scavenging.”

Cilantro

Cilantro is another plant often used in culinary dishes possessing both nutritional and medicinal properties. Based on research presented in the journal Fitoterapia, cilantro offers “anti-inflammatory properties.”

Zendocrine Uses

Aside from the claimed benefits of Zendocrine, uses of the essential oil include:

  • Aromatic
  • Topical
  • Internal

Aromatic

As a part of an aromatic essential oil regimen, users will add Zendocrine to a diffuser of their choice. You’ll add three to four drops of Zendocrine to your diffuser.

Topical

Zendocrine can be used topically. You can create a Zendocrine detox bath by adding three or four drops to your bath. Some also add Epson salts as well. An additional topical application of Zendocrine is applying directly to the skin. The company recommends applying one to two drops to a particular area. doTERRA suggests diluting Zendocrine with a carrier oil (fractionated coconut oil) to minimize skin sensitivity.

Internal

You’ll add one to two drops of Zendocrine to your citrus drinks, water or tea. doTERRA suggests diluting one drop in four ounces of liquid before adding to a dink.

Zendocrine Side Effects

Instead of focusing on side effects found in Zendocrine blend, I have looked at any potential side effects of Zendocrine ingredients.

Tangerine Peel

One of the potential side effects of using tangerine essential oil is skin reactions. According to the International Journal of Molecular Sciences, “To avoid any possible adverse skin reactions, it is recommended to dilute Citrus oils with a carrier oil before topical use.”

Something often missed regarding side effects from tangerine essential oil is the potential interaction with prescription medication.

Rosemary Leaf

While there’s no mention of adverse effects of using rosemary essential oil, there are some positive side effects. According to the journal Scientia Pharmaceutica, in an animal study, mice were exposed to “.5 mL of rosemary for a period of an hour [resulting] in locomotive activity of mice was increased.”

Geranium Flower/Leaf

Some users may notice side effects from this particular ingredient. However, according to the Dental Research Journal, research has “not observed any reportable side effects in patients receiving Geranium.”

Juniper Berry

According to Toxnet Toxicology Data Network, some reported side effects of juniper include “difficulty in breathing, wheezing, and coughing.”, so I wouldn’t recommend this for anyone with asthma or respiratory conditions.

Cilantro

Cilantro is generally safe to use. However, according to the Indian Journal of Pharmacology, cilantro may have a “sedative” effect.WARNINGS

Zendocrine Warnings

There are warning and cautions mentioned on the official website regarding Zendocrine.

  • Possible skin sensitivity.
  • Keep out of the reach of children.
  • Consult a doctor if you’re pregnant, nursing or under the care of a doctor.

Cons:

  • May cause skin irritation.
  • Science shows possible side effects.

“Smells amazing, but with a hint of stink bug, but overall the smell was divine after about ten minutes. I didn’t think that the product did anything for my gallbladder which is the reason for the purchase.”Miajoycat

Essential oil for panic attack

Cleaning your essential oil diffuser

The doTERRA diffusers are an ideal asset to keep in your home or office. Depending on what essential oils you diffuse, they purify the air you breathe and freshen the space with oils infused to meet your needs, which can range from calming and promoting sleep, to waking and grounding the mind by reducing feelings of stress and anxious feelings. A grounded mind can have a profound impact on your level of creativity and innovation.

Regardless of the type of diffuser you have, learning how to clean your diffuser is important to ensure its longevity. If left for too long, essential oils or any leftover water can corrode and ruin your unit, and can also negatively affect your aromatic experience when there’s an array of essential oil residue in the diffuser.

To keep your diffuser in perfect running condition for years to come, clean your diffuser after each use by wiping it out and letting it dry before using it again.

However, I for one always forget to do this!

For a quick clean, it is a good idea to diffuse Lemon oil for a short time. This makes it easier to clean out any residue or water lines before you wipe it out. For diffusers that do not use water, make sure to rinse out the nozzle with tap water and then wipe it clean.

We also recommend that you deep clean your diffusers once a month or as needed. Do so by following these steps based on the type of diffuser you have:

How to Deep-Clean an Ultrasonic Diffuser (for Brevi, Lumo, or Petal diffusers)

  1. Turn off your diffuser.
  2. Wipe it with a clean damp cloth, kitchen roll or tissue.
  3. Fill the water reservoir with clean water.
  4. Add 10 drops of white vinegar to the water reservoir.
  5. Leave it for about half an hour.
  6. Drain the water reservoir completely.
  7. Dip a cotton swab in white vinegar and wipe down the edges of the water reservoir as well as the ultrasonic mist chip.
  8. Rinse the water reservoir with clean water.
  9. Run the diffuser with just clean water.
  10. Repeat this until you cannot smell vinegar.

Keeping a clean diffuser allows for the best possible experience in using your doTERRA essential oils aromatically.

Doterra Essential Skin Care

Even though I have my own line of Cosmeceutical skincare for my clinic, I still also use and love Doterra Essential Skincare.

When the Essential Skin Care line was first launched, it was foundational as the best of both science and nature. However, as skin care technology and ingredients continue to evolve and improve, it was time for the Essential Skin Care line to receive some updates, along with two new products.

Never fear, the elements you have always loved about the skin care line have not changed. This includes features such as the essential oil blends, price (with the exception of the Pore Reducing Toner), formula texture and appearance, package size, and the clinically supported claims of the original products. Ingredients have only been replaced or added when there were better, more effective ingredients and technologies available.**

So what has changed? Aside from the addition of two new products, the Brightening Gel and Anti-Aging Eye Cream, each current product had its formula updated. Read on to find out the new ingredients in each product, and how they contribute to better skin care. Here are the products in order of use:

Melissa essential oil uk

Melissa Essential Oil

With the ability to positively affect mood, Melissa essential oil is often used to reduce tense feelings, promote relaxation, and calm feelings of nervousness.

Primary Benefits

  • May help to support a healthy immune system
  • Calms tension and nerves
  • Promotes feelings of relaxation

Melissa officinalis, also known as lemon balm, received the name “Melissa” because of its sweet, fresh, citrus-like fragrance, which was known to attract bees (Melissa is Greek for “honey bee”). As one of our rarest and most expensive oils, Melissa has a wide range of health benefits and uses.* Melissa is used as a flavour in teas and ice cream as well as with some fish dishes. Because of its positive effect on mood, Melissa has long been used to calm feelings of tension and nervousness. Diffusing Melissa at night can help initiate a restful sleep environment and promote emotional well-being. Melissa may also help to support a healthy immune system.

Why is it sooooooo expensive?

Melissa oil is not common and it is very expensive because 7 tonnes are needed to produce 1 kg (21/4 lb) oil. It is very special, I personally treat myself to 1 bottle a year and make it last. I mix up fractionated coconut oil with 10 drops in my rose quarts roller bottle and use it as a perfume if I feel in need of comfort.

Why Doterra?

Potency & Purity

doTERRA sources their oil from those locations around the world where each oil will have the highest potency and therapeutic benefit.  As an example, although lavender grown in locations such as Sequim, Washington will have a lovely fragrance, when distilled for essential oil, the quality cannot compare to oil derived from lavender grown in the high altitudes of France.  The soil and weather conditions contribute tremendously to the potency and therapeutic value of the oil. This is true for all of the oils doTERRA offers.  Where the plant has been grown makes all the difference.

The purity of an essential oil is its most important characteristic. Proper methods of not only growing the source plants, but also harvesting and distilling are essential in maintaining the purity of the oil.  Due to the development of synthetic essential oil variations, it has become impossible to accurately identify a pure essential oil without it undergoing scientific analysis. The analysis of the constituents in an essential oil is a huge part of quality assurance.

Co-Impact Sourcing

doTERRA partners with growers and communities around the world to not only ensure a sustainable supply of oils, but to also ensure growers and harvesters are paid a fair wage that will allow them to support their families.

doTERRA is creating jobs and incomes for individuals and families and areas of the world that greatly need it.

Another reason to choose doTERRA is their commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of farmers, harvesters, and distillers who contribute to dōTERRA’s oil production.

doTERRA carries over 100 essential oils in its product line, and sources its oils from over 40 countries — more than half of these are developing countries. To ensure that small scale farmers and harvesters in disadvantaged areas are treated ethically, dōTERRA has created an initiative called Cō-Impact Sourcing.

doTERRA's coimpact sourcing makes a difference around the world

Cō-Impact Sourcing is an initiative with the goal of developing long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships with growers, harvesters and distillers while creating sustainable jobs and providing reliable income in these underdeveloped areas.

dōTERRA is committed to the ethical treatment of its suppliers by providing fair prices and on-time payments. These growers and harvesters are supported in forming cooperatives to share collective benefits and bargaining power, while at the same time, improving skills and capacity.

doTERRA is making a difference around the world.

Healing Hands Foundation

Another great thing about doTERRA is the Healing Hands Foundation, which partners with other organizations around the world to bring hope, relief and support to those in need.

  • The doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation™ partners with CHOICE Humanitarian, to help empower impoverished communities with the tools needed to become self-reliant.
  • By partnering with organizations like Days for Girls, the Healing Hands Foundation seeks to bring healing and hope to the world and to make possible lives free of disease and poverty.
  • doTERRA also partners with Operation Underground Railroad  to support those working tirelessly to rescue and rehabilitate children who have been sexually exploited and to bring an end to child slavery.
  • Our partnership with the micro-lending organization, Mentors International, provides credit to those who would otherwise not have financing opportunities or whose only lending options are with unethical and even dangerous lenders.
  • doTERRA even supports the projects of many individual wellness advocates, providing matching funds for worthy humanitarian causes such as orphanages, medical clinics, providing clean water, and more.
doTERRA Healing Hands provided temporary homes in Nepal

In April 2015 when the devastating earthquate hit Nepal, doTERRA’s quick action provided $100,000 in immediate aid to some of the most damaged areas in Nepal.  They also matched donations of wellness advocates around the world to bring the total aid contribution to $635,903.34 for food, water, shelter and other needed supplies.

doTERRA’s Healing Hands was able to get supplies in to devastated areas weeks before other humanitarian agencies, and began building temporary shelters for families.  Donations contributed through the Healing Hands foundation have assisted in providing medical care, building schools, and funding countless other relief efforts.

Singing bowls and essential oils

Benefits of the Singing bowl

People have been using singing bowls for thousands of years. Their origin is unknown, but it is believed that they first originated in either Nepal or India. In Tibet they were largely used as a ceremonial instrument and initially as possibly food bowls. It was not until the 1970’s that singing bowls also became popular throughout the west when their many positive benefits were discovered.

Singing bowls not only look great, they also have many amazing healing and transformative properties. Here are 6 benefits of using a singing bowl.

1. Promote Deep Relaxation

Holding a singing bowl in the palm of your hand and using a wooden mallet or ‘striker’ in the other hand as if you are holding a pen, by gently and slowly going around the edge of the bowl with the mallet in a clockwise direction, the bowl will start to ‘sing.’ As you hear the wonderful tone and feel the bowl vibrate, you will become more conscious of your breathing and feel more relaxed. This calming sound coupled with your breathing can help to release tension and promote a wonderful sense of calm and relaxation.

2. Reduce Stress and Anxiety

I have found that the almost hypnotic sound from a singing bowl helps to clear my mind of any stress and anxiety that I might be feeling. The resonance of the bowl synchronizes brain waves to induce a deep meditative and peaceful state. I also like to gently strike the side of the bowl once or twice to fill my room with the beautiful sound of the bowl, this almost feels like it clears the room of any possible negative energy.

3. Chakra Balancing

In the Indian system of healing, when a physical dysfunction occurs, it is believed that one or more chakras are blocked, or unbalanced. Many people find that the rich blend of harmonic overtones which the bowls produce, have a direct positive affect on balancing the chakras. When used as part of chakra balancing, singing bowls are said to have the ability to adjust and balance the sine waves of each chakra. The frequency from a singing bowl is able to travel from chakra to chakra, self-balancing.

4. Aid The Immune System

It is said that the vibrations from a singing bowl can also help to stimulate the immune system. Every part of our body is vibrating. The sound frequencies created by a singing bowl help to restore, optimize and balance the flow of energy in the parts of the body where this is required. One should always play a singing bowl in the clockwise direction, as the energy in a human body also flows in a clockwise direction.

5. Help You ‘Get In The Zone’

Singing bowls cause the brain to switch to Theta brainwave frequencies that heighten one’s clarity, intuition, as well as deep peaceful and meditative states. Scientists have discovered the upper end of the theta brainwave range produced by a singing bowl is what is considered vital to the healing of the body, mind, and spirit. This is referred to as “being in the zone.” After using my singing bowl, I always feel a wonderful sense of clarity and focus. This is another reason why I love to use a singing bowl as a part of my morning routine.

6. Improve Circulation and Blood Flow

A study published in the American journal of Health Promotion in 2014 found a greater reduction in systolic blood pressure and heart rate after a 12 minute relaxation session of singing bowls compared to silence. The sound from a bowl can reduce brain activity and therefore slow down our respiration and heart rate.

How to use a singing bowl

To create sound with a singing bowl, firmly press the accompanying mallet in a circular motion against the bowl’s outside edge or rim. When you hear a bright, clear tone, you can slow down the motion. Use your full arm to make the motion, rather than just rotating your wrist.

Singing bowls and essential oils

Serenity and balance for meditation and relaxation

With all the above benefits they go hand in hand with essential oil benefits , yoga and also crystal healing.
