10 TIPS FOR RUNNING AN ESSENTIAL OILS CLASS ON FACEBOOK

BEFORE YOUR CLASS

1.Name your class something catchy and interesting. 

2.Set up your pop up Facebook group 1-2 weeks in advance

3. Tag members as they join and welcome them warmly

4. Email your list 3-5 times to invite them to the class

DURING YOUR CLASS

5. Have fun! Don’t worry about being perfect. If you make a mistake just roll with it.

6. Show your oils, diffuser, etc. The visuals keep it interesting, and you can demonstrate exactly how to use the products.

AFTER YOUR CLASS

7. Have a book-a-call link to take orders 

8. Follow up privately with every person who attended your class

9. 2 weeks after your class closes, offer to sample anyone who did not enrol.

10. Welcome your new enrollments with emails, a consult, and continuing education.

Why doTERRA? 

Our company was founded in 2008, with a commitment to establishing patterns of giving. There are no outside investors; the founders personally funded the startup and own 100% of the company. Back then, they took second mortgages, scaled back and worked without pay for years to own their work and make their own choices. doTERRA is now the largest oil company in the world, debt-free. Here is a sweet introduction to one of my personal heroes, Emily Wright.

We are family-focused and empowerment-centric. Mums, dads, babies and families are welcomed, encouraged and supported at classes and conferences. One of the seven founders, Emily Wright, is a mother of four; her commitment to our families is palpable. Healing Hands is our non-profit foundation, funded by the members, employees and executives of the company. We have an option to donate as little or as much as we wish with each order, and certain products are earmarked only for Healing Hands – our Hope Touch roller and our Rose Hand Lotion. Wellness Advocates are also invited to submit our projects to doTERRA for support, and I’ve helped usher three projects to completion thus far – the build of a school in Cambodia, the distribution of Oils and Diffusers to a mental hospital in New Zealand, and most recently, we raised 25k for Girls on Fire Leaders, and Healing Hands matched that donation for a total of 50k for camps, books, and Oils for the most at-risk girls in Kenya.

Healing Hands offers support to Operation Underground Railroad, also known as OUR, an organization committed to rescuing as many children as possible from sex trafficking in several countries, with operations happening regularly. Our donations also help fund the construction of safe house facilities in Thailand, Cambodia and Haiti where rescued children are educated, cared for and rehabilitated in safety back to freedom through Rapha House. We’re also helping 3 Strands to educate, empower and engage students and teachers all over the world to catch signs of human trafficking, take precautions and preventive measures to keep our children safe from these predators. Days for Girls, another organization for which doTERRA offers support, educates both girls and women to empower feminine health, providing sustainable feminine hygiene and care. Having served over one million girls and women to date, Days for Girls affords these girls and women dignity and supplies in order to function in society during their cycle so they aren’t missing chances to learn and grow out of poverty. Without sustainable solutions to manage their monthly cycle, women are abolished from society for the duration of their menstrual time every single month. More than 1 in 10 girls in Sub-Saharan Africa, 113 million adolescent girls in India, and 30% of girls from rural areas of Brazil would miss school each year without the help of Days for Girls.

Our testing practices are stringent. For transparent accountability, we’ve created a standard called Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade® (CPTG), verified by respected third party labs. This standard is based on stringent testing throughout the entire process, from the monitoring of soil quality to testing for chemicals and adulterants in every litre of Oil. All of the basics are checked first: sight, smell, taste and touch. Then the lab rules out any presence of fungus, mold, pesticides, extenders and any other contaminants. Each location has its own specific laws and rules governing agriculture and collecting wild-crafted botanicals. If an Oil fails the test, there is no secondary process for removing the pesticides or foreign matter; that batch is simply rejected. Other than the careful distillation of the Oils from the plant material, *no other processing takes place.* In each bottle, you are experiencing aromatic extracts, nothing added, nothing removed.

I’ve always wanted to see more of the world and with so many opportunities as a wellness advocate I’ve been to events in London, Düsseldorf and in 2020 will be going to conventions in Rome and Utah USA.

Doterra Compensation Plan

Did you know that the minimum required OV (Team Volume) for a doTERRA® Presidential Diamond is 162,000 OV, while other companies require their top leaders to have 1 million or more in team volume? doTERRA is also unique in that it has a retention rate of more than 70 percent, while other companies average 10–20 percent. A major reason for this loyalty is doTERRA provides a product that people love and need. A second reason, is that our compensation plan is designed to benefit our Wellness Advocates not only in the beginning, but also and especially over the long-term.

In the direct selling world, there are three basic compensation plans that companies use: binary, breakaway, and unilevel. Of the three, doTERRA decided that a unilevel plan was the best option for Wellness Advocates. Why? The answer is in the comparison.

What are the three types of compensation plans?

  1. Binary:

    Only two people can be placed on your frontline. 

    Compensation is based on the group volume of each leg. 

    Commissions are usually paid on the weaker leg.

    This plan is not driven by levels, but the volume within an organization is limited for payouts. 

    When a distributor doesn’t qualify, commissions return to the company.

     
  2. Breakaway: 

    Your business-focused downline breaks away from your team when they decide they want to build for themselves. 

    There are monthly team volume requirements for all leaders. 

    When a leader breaks away, they take their volume with them. 

    Leaders are then paid on the number of generations of downline groups.

     
  3. Unilevel:

    Each builder is paid on individual levels.

    Structure is very important. The placement of individuals in your downline is key. 

    Requirements for rank and bonuses are based on OV (team volume) and width. 

    There are no limits on width or depth, but you are only paid on a limited number of levels (seven in doTERRA).
     

What are the pros and cons of each plan?

  1. Binary

    1. Pros:

    The plan is easy to explain. 

    There are frequent payouts.


    2. Cons: 

    Usually people are only paid on their weakest leg. There is no reward for the leg that represents the greatest amount of effort. 

    You have to have two legs to get paid. 

    The plan faces regulatory challenges, both from the FTC and abroad.

    It is only good for single-product companies.

    It is more beneficial for business owners than consumers.

    Revenue is not continuous—it will be up sometimes and down just as quickly.

     
  2. Breakaway 

    1. Pros:

    Your payout could be very large. 

    It is a great plan for those with exceptional recruiting and selling skills.


    2. Cons: 

    The plan itself is difficult to understand. 

    Distributors have a tendency to stockpile product.

    The plan pays the highest levels the most money, while significantly less goes to the lower levels. 

    There is a low retention rate.

    It creates competition within the organization.

     
  3. Unilevel

    1. Pros: 

    It provides a great option for part-time distributors. 

    There are supplemental bonuses. 

    The payouts are large.

    There are no limits on the number of people who can be on a distributor’s frontline. 

    Residual income is secure.


    2. Cons: 

    There are limited levels of pay. 

    It requires time and hard work to build. 

    It is usually slower to build.

    There are smaller checks initially.
     

Unilevel Plus

In looking at the pros and cons, the founding executives decided that the unilevel plan would be the most likely to achieve their goals for doTERRA. However, they wanted to create a way that those who were just starting to build the business could earn money as well. That is why they added Fast Start and Power of 3 bonuses. In this way you can build a long-term income, but have bonuses to get you there along the way. They also added the Founder’s Club and Bonus Pools, so that your hard work and effort to get to higher ranks will be even more beneficial.
