Zendocrine detoxification blend is a fairly new essential oil blend to support the body’s natural ability to rid itself of unwanted substances, cleanse the body of toxins and support healthy liver function, while also purifying and detoxifying systems of the body.
With more people turning to essential oil blends to promote overall health, I wanted to look into the benefits of Zendocrine.
Zendocrine is on of our doTERRA essential oils blend products. This detoxification blend offers a host of benefits, but primarily its uses include:
Essential oil blends are volatile aromatic compounds found in the bark, flowers, roots, seeds, and stems of the plant. What is a volatile aromatic compound? They are small organic molecules changing from a liquid or solid state into a gas; all at room temperature. When volatile aromatic compounds move through the air, they in-turn affect the sensory glands; making essential oil blends ideal for use in aromatherapy.
While doTERRA offers key benefits of Zendocrine, there are additional benefits of essential oil blends. The primary benefits of Zendocrine include:
INGREDIENTS
Zendocrine ingredients are listed in a proprietary blend, including:
Tangerine, as with other citrus fruits, has been studied extensively for its health benefits. The Chemistry Central Journal concluded, “metabolites in Citrus…work synergistically to exhibit anti-oxidative, anti-inflammatory properties.”
Rosemary is used in culinary dishes throughout the world, but also offers health benefits. According to the journal Evidence-based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, “uses of rosemary are antibacterial, antioxidant, improving cognitive deficits, and anti-inflammatory.”
Additionally, the journal Psychiatry Research found “smelling rosemary increases free radical scavenging activity and decreases cortisol levels.”
Geranium is an essential oil studied for its benefits on stress reduction. According to the Journal of Caring Sciences, “Aroma of essential oil of geraniums can effectively reduce [stress]…and can be recommended as a non-invasive anti-[stress] aid.”
Juniper is native to Europe, North and South America. According to the journal International Scholarly Research Notices, juniper has been used in “herbal medicine…as [an] antidiarrheal, anti-inflammatory, astringent, and antiseptic.”
Research presented in the journal Antioxidants concluded, “antioxidant research of juniper essential oil provided the existence of several mechanisms which enabled [free] radical scavenging.”
Cilantro is another plant often used in culinary dishes possessing both nutritional and medicinal properties. Based on research presented in the journal Fitoterapia, cilantro offers “anti-inflammatory properties.”
Aside from the claimed benefits of Zendocrine, uses of the essential oil include:
As a part of an aromatic essential oil regimen, users will add Zendocrine to a diffuser of their choice. You’ll add three to four drops of Zendocrine to your diffuser.
Zendocrine can be used topically. You can create a Zendocrine detox bath by adding three or four drops to your bath. Some also add Epson salts as well. An additional topical application of Zendocrine is applying directly to the skin. The company recommends applying one to two drops to a particular area. doTERRA suggests diluting Zendocrine with a carrier oil (fractionated coconut oil) to minimize skin sensitivity.
You’ll add one to two drops of Zendocrine to your citrus drinks, water or tea. doTERRA suggests diluting one drop in four ounces of liquid before adding to a dink.
Instead of focusing on side effects found in Zendocrine blend, I have looked at any potential side effects of Zendocrine ingredients.
One of the potential side effects of using tangerine essential oil is skin reactions. According to the International Journal of Molecular Sciences, “To avoid any possible adverse skin reactions, it is recommended to dilute Citrus oils with a carrier oil before topical use.”
Something often missed regarding side effects from tangerine essential oil is the potential interaction with prescription medication.
While there’s no mention of adverse effects of using rosemary essential oil, there are some positive side effects. According to the journal Scientia Pharmaceutica, in an animal study, mice were exposed to “.5 mL of rosemary for a period of an hour [resulting] in locomotive activity of mice was increased.”
Some users may notice side effects from this particular ingredient. However, according to the Dental Research Journal, research has “not observed any reportable side effects in patients receiving Geranium.”
According to Toxnet Toxicology Data Network, some reported side effects of juniper include “difficulty in breathing, wheezing, and coughing.”, so I wouldn’t recommend this for anyone with asthma or respiratory conditions.
Cilantro is generally safe to use. However, according to the Indian Journal of Pharmacology, cilantro may have a “sedative” effect.WARNINGS

BOTTOM LINE
“Suggest to rub 3-6 drops on to your liver area under your right ribcage before bed. I find it relieves fatigue, helps with digestion and reduced headaches if I stay out too late. it smells a little funky but washes out easily from clothes and bedding.”EDH
“Smells amazing, but with a hint of stink bug, but overall the smell was divine after about ten minutes. I didn’t think that the product did anything for my gallbladder which is the reason for the purchase.”Miajoycat
